Lisa M. (Sayles) Hogenkamp, M.D. was born and raised in Oneida, New York. She graduated from Cornell University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a Genetics concentration.  She enrolled in medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.  Dr. Lisa then completed her Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse,  before relocating to Rutland, Vermont.  She has been in private practice with her husband since 1999.
